Ancient British Coins (ancient-british-coins.pages.dev) is run by CHM Capital Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company no. 17466915, registered office 59-60 Russell Square, London WC1B 4HP. A contact email address will be published when the site moves to its own domain. Your privacy is covered by our privacy notice.

Free and subscriber features

All 3D models, the condition slider, the found specimens, feature names and evidence labels are free. Identification notes and specialist comparisons are planned for subscribers. Subscriptions are not on sale yet: we take no payments and ask for no payment details.

Sources and licences

• The models are made from photographs licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 2.0 (CC BY 2.0). Each coin page and the Sources page credit the photographer and institution and say what we changed.
• We do not claim ownership of those photographs, and nothing on this site limits your right to reuse them under their licence.
• Catalogue numbers are cross-references reported in the find records. The catalogues belong to their authors and publishers. We are independent of the Portable Antiquities Scheme, the British Museum and the museums and councils credited.

What the models are

• The 3D coins are interpretive reconstructions made from two photographs each. They are not scans, replicas or measurements. Depth, edges and unseen surfaces are inferred.
• Condition presets are descriptions, not numismatic grades. Nothing here is a valuation, an authentication or legal advice about finds.
• We quote the find records and say when a record or a photograph is uncertain. We do our best to keep everything correct, but the site is provided as information, without warranty. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
